Meet Our Team

Jacquie

I have always had a love for dogs for as long as I can remember. It is incredible the love they have to offer us which I learnt with my first dog Scruffy who came into my life when I was 6 years old. I would makeshift agility courses in the kitchen and make trails of food for him to follow, this is where I discovered that I had to work with animals in the future.

I went on to study Animal Science at University followed by a Certificate III in Dog Behaviour & Training through the NDTF. I have since had five years of experience training with dogs and their humans struggling with problem behaviours ranging from normal puppy and adolescence cheekiness to dog aggression, people aggression and reactivity.

I have learnt more than I could ever imagine from bringing in three of my own beautiful boys; Kovu the Kelpie x, Jory the Terrier x, and Felix the Shepherd x. They have inspired me to always continue to learn because there is always more learning to do in the field of dog training.

I’ve been immersed in the dog training industry for over 5 years, I am always searching for knowledge and strive to constantly grow my expertise. I have completed a Bachelor of Animal Science, a Certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour, a Certificate II in working dogs, and various seminars by incredible behaviourists. I have worked extensively with anxiety, hyperarousal, reactivity, and aggression as well as general manners, obedience, and trick training.

I have two dogs, Koda the Kelpie x and Kenai the Husky. Recently adding a third to the family, a senior Ridgeback x. All three have polar personalities and I cherish their differences, quirks, behavioural challenges, and lessons they’ve taught me along the way!

During my years of working with dog behaviour, I’ve learnt that dogs are incredibly adaptable animals and will respond enthusiastically with clear communication. I love working with dog owners to problem solve what management and training works best for them and their dog, to ensure everything we apply is realistic and achievable in their daily life. I love making training fun and helping grow the treasured bond we have with our dogs!

I’ve been an avid animal lover my whole life, with dogs always being my favourite. I have two dogs of my own, an almost 4 year old Border Collie named Ollie and a 1 year Border Collie named Rua. I grew up in the country surrounded by sheep dogs and have always strived to learn more about the incredible communication between the farmer and his dogs. My family has owned dogs ever since I can remember and I used to spend all my spare time with them training and teaching them tricks. All of my dogs have had different personalities and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out what training methods work best with each one.

I’ve been working in the dog training industry for over 4 years. During that time, I’ve gained my Certificate III in dog training and behaviour and before that completed a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science. I love learning all about dogs and their behaviour, regularly listening to podcasts, watching videos of highly experienced trainers and reaching out to other trainers to constantly expand my knowledge.

I take pride in helping people bond with their dogs and figure out a way to work together. I find joy in watching the trust build between a dog and their owner through training, whether that is through general obedience or working through a behavioural issue such as reactivity or anxiety.
